Nakshi kantha — quilts stitched from old cloth, with running-stitch flowers, fish, boats and village scenes — is a living craft of Bangladeshi women. This notebook fine-tunes FLUX.1 [schnell] (Apache-2.0) with a LoRA on kantha motifs, so you can ask for new designs in words.
What you do
- Gather openly licensed kantha photographs from Wikimedia Commons (with an attribution list) or use your own.
- Train a LoRA on an 80 GB AI Computer (about 45–90 minutes), because FLUX is large.
- Generate motifs and borders and review them.
Good to know
- The FLUX model is gated: accept its terms on Hugging Face first.
- Kantha is community heritage. Use the results for inspiration and credit the tradition; do not pass generated images off as handmade work.
